Course Overview
This easy to follow course provides examples for the preparation of solutions, discusses appropriate glassware use, demonstrates examples of redox and acid-base titrations and gives examples for the preparation of culture media.
Course learning outcomes;
- Become familiar with the different types of common apparatus in a laboratory setting, along with their purpose and reason for design
- Look at the way each piece of equipment is used and the correct way to make readings
- Worked examples of making molar solution and serial dilutions will be shown
- Demonstrations of two standard types of titration; redox and acid-base
- Review the different types of media found in both micro and cell biology laboratories, and how these are prepared
- Highlight specific industry examples and case studies of the types of lab and their equipment
